Adaptive reuse of a thirty-year-old structure with a terrace, headroom, and two houses combined into one home. The functional layout was challenging as the building is situated in a narrow 18’x 86’ site; with fewer to no alterations in the civil, plumbing, and electrical layout, the budget, clear height, exposed structural elements were other constraints. The intent was to portray a specific seasonal theme for each room of the house. Although each room had a different mood-board and material palette the design statement continues to correlate. The structural elements such as columns and beams themselves were used as design elements rather than concealed.
